WATCH: Confusion as Bobrisky wins best female dressed, awarded $700

The entertainment industry has been thrown into a state of confusion after crossdresser, Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky was awarded the best dressed female at the ‘Beast Of Two Worlds’ (Ajakaju) movie premiere.

The event which took place on Sunday, March 24, saw Bobrisky wearing a black dress with a dark makeup to match and holding a staff.

As part of his award, Bobrisky popularly called ‘Mummy of Lagos’ was also given one million naira.

Displeased by the action of the movie executives, many quizzed why a male crossdresser should be allowed to win in a female category.

Singer, Portable expressed shock at the turn of events. He raised concerns over the gender of Bobrisky. He also hinted at beating the crossdresser with firewood for spoiling the brotherhood.

He said; “Is Bobrisky a woman? Is it not artificial? A man who did his butt, breast? All those ladies who acted in the movie you didn’t see them, to give the award? Who gives an award meant for females to a man acting like a woman?” he said.

Actress Toyin Abraham and actress Dayo Amusan who attended the show, questioned why the organisers would give Bobrisky the award for a female category, knowing well he is a crossdresser and not an actual female.

Reacting to the numerous call outs, Bobrisky on his Instagram page tackled critics over their displeasure at his award.

Bobrisky wrote;

“@Portable ogun wan kpa your mama? weytin concern me with your life? I resemble your fellow people in the ghetto? Na God go punish you. If you try shit with me I will take you to where they will deal with you and you and your dead career will end finally. Oloriburuku omoale,” Bobrisky said after Portable stormed his page to make some comments.

Filmmaker Ugezu J. Ugezu on his part, questioned the actions of the organisers who awarded Bobrisky in the female category.

He wrote; “So many people have lost it. How can a win the prize for “The Best Dressed Female”? in an event organized by human beings? Is this sincerely not a slap on the faces of our women who are working hard everyday to be the best themselves? Sometimes, I pause and ponder, where are we headed in this country?”
