Watch as Nigerian football star Victor Osimhen takes African Football of the Year award to primary school

Napoli starman Victor Osimhen returned to his roots in Olusosun, Lagos, where his dream began, to present his CAF African Player of the Year Award.

The 25-year-old visited Olusosun Primary School, his alma mater, to share his triumph with the community that nurtured his early talent.

Osimhen, whose journey to football stardom began on the streets of Olusosun, proudly displayed the award he earned last December.

Osimhen clinched the 2023 African Player of the Year Award after a stellar 2022/2023 season with Napoli, during which he netted 33 goals across all competitions and led the team to their first Scudetto title in over three decades.

The Super Eagles striker surpassed Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Paris Saint-Germain’s Achraf Hakimi to win the award, becoming the first Nigerian international to achieve this accolade since Nwankwo Kanu in 1999.
