Watch as MP for Kwesimintsim woos constituents by playing the role of a ‘trotro mate’

The Member of Parliament and New Patriotic (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Kwesimintsim constituency, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, was captured playing the role of a bus conductor, popularly referred to as a “mate.”

Candidates engage in activities they would not do on a regular day just to win votes.

Some MPs have been captured in the past unbraiding hair, preparing banku, folding clothes, and performing other household chores just to woo constituents.

In a video posted on X by EDHUB, the MP for Kwesimintsim was seen clinging to the gate of a mini bus, a common practice that most trotro mates engage in.

Dressed in white long-sleeves and black trousers with black and white sneakers, Hamid Armah was seen shaking hands with people while playing the role of a trotro mate.

A voice was heard shouting the destinations of the minibus while onlookers happily watched the MP.

Hamid Armah’s actions have sparked mixed reactions, including mockery, on social media.
