Watch as Dr Kwasi Agyeman welcomed John Mahama to his residence

President John Dramani Mahama, during his visit to Kumasi ahead of meeting the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, also paid a visit to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Taabea Group of Companies, Dr. Christian Kwasi Agyeman.

In a video circulating on social media, President Mahama was seen coming out of his presidential vehicle in an all-white outfit.

The president was approached by Dr. Agyeman, together with his children, and was seen exchanging pleasantries with them.

John Mahama was then ushered to the residence by the business mogul.

Background

President Mahama, on January 18, 2025, arrived in Kumasi to pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II ahead of the Akwasidae Festival at the Manhyia Palace.

The visit marked John Dramani Mahama’s first official visit to the Ashanti Region after being sworn in as president.

President Mahama’s visit to the Ashanti Region is also part of his engagement with traditional rulers to resolve the conflict in Bawku.

He disclosed his planned visit to Otumfuo, during a courtesy call on the Overlord of Mamprugu, Naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga; at his palace at Nalerigu, the North East Regional Capital, on January 15.
