Watch as ‘doubtful’ Otto Addo inspects true state of Accra Sports Stadium pitch

Black Stars coach Otto Addo was captured on camera inspecting the quality of the pitch at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Black Stars commenced training on Monday, October 7, 2024, for their match against Sudan on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

During the training, Otto Addo took time to inspect the pitch and ascertain its durability for a proper football match.

Per the video in circulation, Otto Addo first checked with his foot before dipping his hand into the pitch to assess it.

The pitch at the stadium has been a focal point of discourse after the Confederation of African Football banned Ghana from playing matches at home as none of the country’s sporting facilities met the CAF requirements.

After the ban, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the National Sports Authority put the wheels in motion to get one of the stadiums ready for the match.

Luckily, CAF granted conditional approval for the Accra Sports Stadium to host the match on October 10, 2024.

The Black Stars commenced training with eleven players turning up for the exercise.
