Watch as Amerado performs for Dr. Bawumia at NPP campaign in Eastern Region

Ghanaian musician Amerado, real name Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, has been spotted performing for New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and NPP faithful at Abuakwa South in the Eastern Region.

The video shared by ZionFelix on Instagram showed the Kumasi-based rapper and singer storming the stage to the delight of the NPP supporters.

He treated them to some of his hit songs, including Abronoma and Kweku Ananse, while Dr. Bawumia and some other NPP party executives watched on.

Amerado joins a host of other Ghanaian artistes including Olivetheboy and Joyce Blessing, who have performed on political stages without endorsing any party.

Many on social media have been quick to interpret such performances as money-making ventures by these artistes and not endorsements.
