WAEC yet to decide on 2,160 withheld results

The Deputy Director for Public Affairs, West African Examination Council (WAEC), Agnes Cudjoe says her outfit is yet to take a decision on the 2,160 withheld results.

A decision, according to her, will only be taken when the findings of investigations are out and the Council is able to determine which papers will be released or cancelled per the committee’s recommendations on the issue.

“The reports of the withheld results will be presented to a subcommittee then finally to Ghana Examination Committee that is chaired by the Director of the Ghana Education Service for review to decide which papers should be cancelled or not,” she noted.

The entire results of 2,160 candidates who were alleged to have been involved in examination malpractices have been withheld pending the conclusion of investigations.

It follows the release of provisional results of 133,986 candidates who took the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates, 2018.
