Wa flogging video suspects granted bail

The three persons arrested by the police for their various roles in the public flogging of some two lovers in Wa have been granted bail.

The three – Bushran Khidir, Issahaku Mahama and Naa Sidiki Osman – were arraigned before a Wa Circuit Court on Thursday afternoon.

They were granted bail with five sureties each at a sum of GH¢3,000.

They are to reappear on Monday, June 13.

About 25 persons picked up in the municipality are also being readied for the courts after they stormed the Wa Police Station Wednesday evening to demand the rescue of the three.

All these are a fallout from the leaked sex tape in Wa, where a by-law has been passed against such acts.

The two lovers were, as a result, flogged for flouting the by-law.
