Voter injured over ballot paper scuffle at Odododiodio polling station

A male voter sustained a head injury during a confrontation over ballot papers at the Odododiodio (Mantse Palace No.1) polling station in Accra. The incident occurred as tensions flared among voters, leading to a physical altercation.

According to observer witnesses, the scuffle began when a disagreement over the handling of ballot papers escalated into violence. The injured voter was treated by medical personnel at the scene and is said to be in stable condition.

Security forces swiftly intervened to restore order, and the police have launched an investigation into the incident. No arrests have been made so far.

Local authorities, including the Electoral Commission, have assured the public that steps are being taken to maintain peace and prevent further disturbances at polling stations. A police spokesperson confirmed that measures are in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the election.

While the situation at Odododiodio has been brought under control, the Electoral Commission is urging voters to remain calm and follow all procedures to avoid any further conflict.

This altercation is part of a series of minor disruptions reported at various polling stations nationwide. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely to ensure a peaceful and orderly election day.
