VIDEO: World ‘oldest’ footballer from Ghana identified, he’s 68yrs old

A 68-year-old footballer, Papa Polo thought to be the oldest footballer in the world has been identified in Ghana.

Papa Polo lives at Fodoa, a suburb of Nkawkaw in the Kwahu West Municipal Assembly of the Eastern Region.

News circulating on social media indicates that Papa Polo is the oldest footballer in the world so far.

Speaking to a YouTuber Kojo Eben K-Lover in Kwahu, the 68-year-old skillful player revealed that, despite his age, he is able to jog several Kilometres from Fodoa to Nkawkaw and back every morning, residents also attest to that.

According to him, he started playing football at a very young age, at a point he had the opportunity to travel to other African countries, but later returned following unforeseen circumstances recorded in those countries during that time.

When asked about the secrets behind his strength despite his age, he noted that he has been avoiding alcohol, smoking, and womanizing, adding that he eats some selected local foods.

In a video captured on Lovers TV youtube channel, the old but strong and skillful Papa Polo is seen going after the ball. He controls the ball and passes it on to his colleague players without delay.

After the training, he displayed so many skills and scored a penalty as people begin to cheer him up. Watch video below
