HOT VIDEO: ‘Change your ways or face our wrath’ – Asiedu Nketia warns EC Boss

The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has asked the EC boss, Madam Jean Mensa to change her ways of doing things at the Commission or face their wrath.

According to him, the EC boss has refused to learn the way they do their things especially at the Inter-party Advisory Committee (IPAC) and doing things her way which is not helping in the effective running of IPAC and decision making.

Speaking on Okay FM’s ‘Ade Akye Abia’ programme, the NDC scribe added they cannot tolerate this kind of attitude going into election 2020.

“If she continues to behave this way she will have no option than to face our wrath. There are rules and guidelines guiding inter-party activities at the Electoral Commission so you cannot come and just thwart everything just like that.”

“There are times that we have corrected her about the way things are done but it looks like she has her agenda and will want to pursue it without recourse to us as a political party,” he said.

He added that the party will resist attempts by the Electoral Commission (EC) to conduct the upcoming limited voters’ registration exercise at the district offices of the commission.

According to the him, the move was not part of the issues upheld during the last Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held in March.

The NDC “differed very strongly” on the matter and is “opposed to any system of registration that will be limited to the district offices of the EC.”.

Mr. Aseidu Nketia also raised concerns about the possible lack of resources at some of the newly created districts.

“These new districts don’t even have the equipment so what will happen is that if we allow the proposal to stay, it will mean that people within the new districts will also move to the parent district in order to get their names registered.”
