Tinubu reveals N2 billion out of N5 billion was released to Governors for palliative

This palliatives was released to cushion the effect of the removal of the fuel subsidy across the country.

Report by The Nation noted that Tinubu said, the N2bn released was to mitigate the sharp increase in inflation if the N5bn had been released.

The president said this through his minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Wale Edun, on Friday, September 1, in Abuja.

Edun was of the view that it was a deliberate attempt by the Tinubu administration to stagger the release of the palliative funds.
