• Muntaka says Kevin Taylor is a disappointed member of the NPP
• Muntaka says the allegations are not true as he has not enjoyed a single contract from the government
• He was also not part of President Akufo-Addo’s recent trip to the United States
Muntaka Mubarak, the Minority Chief Whip has shot down claims by US-based social media commentator Kevin Taylor that he is a member of the National Democratic Congress.
Muntaka contends that Kevin Taylor’s assertions are untrue as he is aware of his status as a staunch member of the governing New Patriotic Party.
Muntaka said in a video shared on his social media pages that Kevin Taylor is a member of the NPP who is embittered by the decision of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to sideline him in his government.
He alleged further that Kevin Taylor has been paid by bigots’ to create disunity in the NDC and champion the interest of the NPP.
“You are an agent of NPP who is trying to destroy the NDC. You claim you speak for NDC but it is only Nana Akufo-Addo you speak against.”
Muntaka who vowed not to forgive Kevin Taylor, invoked God’s wrath on him and anyone who he says is fueling the attack on him Kevin Taylor.
“You see, you are not decent. Decent people, when they hear things, they try to crosscheck. You are so naïve about the things that we do. You see this lies that you’ve told about me, I’ll never forgive you. God will punish you and you will go through the pain you have put me and my people through.”
Muntaka threw a challenge to Kevin Taylor to come to Ghana and embark on the same course against him and Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu.
He stated that Kevin Taylor’s actions are an affront to the dictates of journalism as he does not crosscheck his facts before publishing them.
“Kelvin Taylor let me tell you. I challenge you to bring everything that you claim to have, I am very ready for you. Let me start by saying that I don’t work for you. I don’t work for you. I work for my constituency but you see the kind of allegations that you are leveling is shocking that you claim to be a journalist and you know the tenets of good journalism.
“The tenets of journalism is that when you have facts you claim to have, you give people that the so called concern the fact to authenticate or otherwise. You crosscheck and you don’t just go talking on top of your head because probably somebody might give you wrong information so you use it to run.”
Kevin Taylor in one of usual effusions alleged that Haruna Iddrisu and Muntaka were in bed with the government.
He alleged without evidence that the two were leveraging on the nature of the 8th parliament to enrich themselves.
