Fire destroys multiple structures in Chorkor

A raging fire swept through Saban Park in Chorkor Chemuena, Greater Accra Region, on Sunday, May 5, 2024, destroying multiple structures while many residents were attending church.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) quickly intervened, stopping the fire from spreading to nearby homes.

Firefighters from the Korle Bu fire station and Accra City, Makola, were called in to manage the blaze.

Multiple ‘chamber and hall’ self-contained homes were destroyed by the fire.

The cause of the blaze remains unknown; however, some witnesses suspect it may have been caused by an electrical fault.
