VIDEO: GRA building fire: Soldier, fire officer, injured

One Fire Officer and a soldier have been injured in the ongoing attempts to fight the fire that has ravaged a building belong to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in Accra.

The duo was part of officers making frantic efforts to put out the early Sunday morning fire but as can be seen from the attached photos, the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) official returned from the building injured.

The extent of his injury is not immediately known because security personnel at the scene are tight-lipped on circumstances surrounding the injury or its degree.

Reports, however, say the officer was hit by a broken glass that exploded from the burning building.

He has been rushed to the hospital as officials of the Ghana Red Cross Society who are on the scene to assist people with minor injuries could not handle his situation.

The soldier, reports say, dislocated his shoulder as he was attempting to throw stones at a window glassing to create a passage for water being used by the fire service to fight the fire.
