US$150m to West Ham, US$300K weekly – Inside the Kudus Saudi transfer ‘deal’

Multiple media outlets in oil-rich Saudi Arabia are reporting a possible transfer move for Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus.

According to the report, the alleged move is in line with the league’s plan to attract a big star each year to the gulf state, by way of boosting their football ecosystem.

GhanaWeb Sports’ tracking of information from Saudi-news outlets have uncovered the following key facts.

a. The club widely rumoured to be in line to sign Kudus is Al-Ittihad, where former Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema currently plies his trade.

b. It is rumoured that even though West Ham will be looking to retain the services of their star man for another season, a US$150 million fee could see them release the player.

c. Al-Ittihad are said to be lining up a weekly wage of US$300,000 for the player.

Other perks the 23-year-old could qualify for is business class travel for his family, free accommodation, cars among others.

ESPN is said to have carried the news aside the Saudi portals.
