Ursula Owusu-Ekuful to be enstooled ‘Development Queen’ of Asuom

Minister for Communications and MP for Ablekuma West, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, will be enstooled as Nkosuohemaa (Development Queen) of Asuom On Saturday, September 29, 2018.

The enstoolment ceremony, which will be held at Akyem Asuom in the Kwaebibirem Municipality in the Eastern Region, will attract dignitaries, chiefs and well-wishers across the country to Akyem Asuom to bestow the honour on Mrs Owusu-Ekuful.

According to the Chief of Asuom, Osabarima Ofosuhene Apenteng II, the first part of the traditional rituals will start at 9am on Saturday at the Chief’s Palace, Asuom.

He added that at 2pm, the newly-enstooled Nkosuohemaa will be introduced to the chiefs and people of Asuom at the Asuom funeral grounds where her new stool name will be announced.

Information reaching us indicate that a team of over 100 dignitaries and traditional leaders will join the chiefs and people of Asuom to confer this new development title on the Minister for Communications, who coincidentally is an Akyem woman from Akyem Oda in the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area of the Eastern Region.

Among the dignataries expected to grace the occasion include Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah- Dep. Minister of Trade & Industry, MP for Tema West and a native of Asuom, George Nenyi Andah – Dep. Minister for Communications; Hon. Vincent Odotei-Sowah – Dep. Minister for Communications; Mr. Joe Anokye-Managing Director of the National Communications Authority (NCA); Mr. James Kwofie – Managing Director of Ghana Post.

Others are Kwasi Amoako-Attah-Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwabena Ohemeng-Tinyase-MP for Kade, Antwi Boasiako – MCE for Kade, Chiefs of Asuom and its environs, Nana Akua Asantewaa – Queenmother of Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area, Oda, among others.
