Police disclosed to MyNewsGh.com that the motive behind the attack which occurred at Bulenga in the Wa East District is not immediately known but they are linking it to a suspected robbery attack.

Bukari Ali who was returning to the Regional Capital was attacked at a sharp curve where the 2 gunmen appeared from their hideout and started shooting indiscriminately at them.

Bukari who is skilled in driving managed to escape but not unscathed as he suffered some gunshot wounds.

There is a rise in insecurity in the country as several armed robbery attacks have been recorded in recent times with Tema in the Greater Accra Region recording as many as about 9 in just a week.

Many security analysts have tried linking the impending elections to the robbery attacks seeking to suggest they are politically sponsored but the Ghana Police Service which disagrees, indicate that it is working to nib the activities of these criminals in the bud.
