UPDATE: What we know so far about LilWin’s accident

On May 25, 2024, Ghanaians woke up to the shocking news that renowned Kumawood actor and comedian, Kwadwo Nkansah, widely known as LilWin, was involved in a car accident.

Videos trending on social media showed LilWin being carried out of a branded car into a waiting car.

While no official statement has been released from the camp of LilWin, here’s what GhanaWeb has gathered so far about the accident.

The accident happened in front of the Grace Baptist Church at Amakom in Kumasi.

LilWin, who was travelling with two others, collided head-on with another vehicle while driving his Benz.

All occupants, including LilWin, sustained injuries and were promptly rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

According to eyewitnesses, LilWin suffered minor injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.

His road manager and bodyguard, who were also in the car, sustained minor injuries as well.

At the time of the accident, LilWin was en route to the funeral of actress Matilda Asare’s mother.

He was also scheduled to hold the second premiere of his latest movie, “A Country Called Ghana,” later in the day at the KNUST CCB Auditorium.

The status of the premiere following the accident remains uncertain.

The accident has sparked a wave of support and well-wishes for the actor’s swift recovery across social media platforms.
