UPDATE: One kotoko official hospitalized after Berekum fans attack [PHOTOS]

Two Asante Kotoko officials have been hospitalized in Berekum after a fight broke out before their league match with Berekum Chelsea in the Special Competition.

The club’s policy analyst Amo Sarpong is said to have fired gunshots after some fans of the home team attacked them.

They sustained wounds and had to be whisked away to the hospital to receive treatment.

A few minutes to the kickoff of the clash between Berekum Chelsea and Asante Kotoko at the Golden City Park, Policy Analyst of the Porcupine Warriors, Amo Sarpong has fires gunshots following provocations by the home fans.

According to our reporter who was at the scene, Operations Officer of Asante Kotoko Perugia was attacked by angry fans of the home side for reasons yet to be known.

The Policy Analyst swiftly dived into his car and hurriedly came out with a pistol, firing warning shots in the midst of the confusion.

Security officers at the venue have whisked Amo Sarpong to the Berekum Police Station with just some few minutes to the start of the game.
