Unwholesome tilapia destroyed at Asutuare

Some 18 tons of tilapia have been destroyed at the Asutuare area of the Greater Accra Region.

The fish brought into the country by some Chinese nationals is suspected to be genetically modified and could not survive the Ghanaian environment.

President of the Ghana Aquaculture Association, Jennifer Sodji said Ghanaians should not panic over the matter.

Part of the Chinese fish farm where the fish could not survive has been closed down.
