Health Secretary Matt Hancock announces £20m funding for the research, saying “in normal times reaching this stage would take years”
The United Kingdom (UK) Health Secretary, Rt. Hon Matt Hancock, has announced that Oxford University will begin human trials of the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, 23rd April 2020.
He announced that a total of about £20m funding has been made available for the research.
The United Kingdom has had a total of 129,044 COVID-19 cases with 17,337 deaths.
The United Kingdom on Monday reported 823 more coronavirus deaths in hospitals, following a post-weekend dip in Monday’s figures.
