UK to begin human trials of COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday

The United Kingdom (UK) Health Secretary, Rt. Hon Matt Hancock, has announced that Oxford University will begin human trials of the COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, 23rd April 2020.

He announced that a total of about £20m funding has been made available for the research.

The United Kingdom has had a total of 129,044 COVID-19 cases with 17,337 deaths.

The United Kingdom on Monday reported  823 more coronavirus deaths in hospitals, following a post-weekend dip in Monday’s figures.
