Two reasons why Chukwueze’s move to Madrid may not happen

As per reports, Real Madrid Club President, Fiorentino Perez has taken interest in the Super Eagles winger and is carefully considering a possible move for the 23-year-old as an attacking pair to Vinicius Junior on the flanks.

Madrid’s interest in Chukwueze gained momentum following his stellar performance for Villarreal against the Spanish champions in La Liga earlier this month.

Chukwueze netted a brace to help the Yellow Submarines to a memorable 3-2 win at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Villarreal have reportedly placed an €80m price tag on Chukwueze amid interest from Los Blancos.

Whereas Real Madrid’s interest in the Super Eagles winger is not in doubt, his poor injury record could be a stumbling block to his possible move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer as revealed by the Vikings.

Chukwueze missed a total of 15 games for Villarreal when Unai Emery was at the helm.

Another reason why the deal could hit a snag is Villarreal’s asking price of €80m as Real Madrid will be willing to splash only €50m for Chukwueze’s signature, according to reports.

Meanwhile, both clubs are yet to engage in any form of negotiations as things stand.

Chukwueze has managed 11 goals and 13 assists across all competitions for Quique Setien’s side this season.
