Two policemen killed, 6 others severely injured in deadly crash
Two policemen have been confirmed dead while six others are said to be in critical condition after they were involved in a gory accident Tema-Akosombo Highway.
Police disclosed to MyNewsGh.com that Chief Inspector Ben Bosokah and Constable Forster Somuah Asante were pronounced dead on arrival at the Shai Osudoku District Hospital at Dodowa
According to the police, the incident occurred on Sunday night at about 10pm when Hyundai H100 mini bus with registration number GR 4276-14 with six passengers on board traveling from Tema direction towards Akosombo on Tema-Akosombo Highway.
On reaching Manya Jorpanya junction, the said Hyundai H100 mini bus collided with a Mercedes Benz saloon car with registration Number GT 8430-T driven by Chief Inspector Ben Bosokah with Constable Forster Somuah Asante and 53-year-old Bernard Astu on board coming from the opposite direction.
Both vehicles got damaged whilst suspect drivers and all occupants sustained severe injuries and were rushed to Shai Osudoku District Hospital where the two police officers were pronounced dead.
Bodies of the two deceased police officers have been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary Accra awaiting autopsy.
