Two notorious land guards arrested by police at Breku

The Awutu District Police Command have arrested two notorious land guards at Gomoa Nkwantanan in he Gomoa East district of the Central region.

According to the Awutu Bereku District Police Commander DSP John Hessey, land guards have been unleashing terror on residents in the area.

The situation he lamented has brought fear and panic in the area but the police have also adopted measures to manage the situation, he added.

According to him, the command got a hint that, some suspected land guards had attacked workers who were working on a land purchased by telecom giant MTN on Thursday.

He said the land guards inflicted wounds on their victims with offensive weapons including knives and the victims later reported the incident at the police station following which the police followed up and arrested two of the land guards.

He said the others managed to escape arrest because they rode on motorbikes and drove at top speed.

The two notorious land guards are Anthony Kwoa 32 years and Ahmed Jibreal 22 years, they are currently in custody at the Awutu Bereku police custody.

He told Rainbow Radio’s Nana Yaw Asare that, the two suspects would be arraigned before court.

Meanwhile, the Omankrado of Gomoa Fetteh Krakraba, Nana Yaw Kwadumewu Il, has also appealed to the first gentleman of the land Nana Akufo -Addo to address the issue of land guards in order to bring sanity and stability in the area and other parts of the country where land guards operate.
