Two Ghanaian men shot in Southwest Philadelphia

The Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police (FOP Lodge 5) is offering a reward of $10,000 to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest of perpetrators of the July 6th Buist Avenue shooting.

According to Investigators, a double-shooting occurred on Independence Day that left one man dead and an off-duty police officer critically injured.

Eyewitness say, the incident occurred around 10:10 p.m. Wednesday along the 7000 block of Buist Avenue in the Elmwood section of Southwest Philadelphia, where some people were celebrating the holiday with a block party.

A 24-year-old man identified as Michael Boateng suffered a gunshot wound to his chest while the off-duty policeman identified as Fred Attakora, 38, also sustained gunshot wounds in his arm and abdomen.

According to the police, Boateng and Attakora were not the intended targets adding that they have launched a surveillance team to investigate the matter.
