Two employees arrested for attempted robbery in Abossey Okai

The Special Support Unit of the Ghana Police Service has arrested two employees of a North Kaneshie-based company for allegedly plotting a robbery during a scheduled cash transfer.

The suspects have been identified as Joseph Danso, also known as Nana Yaw, and Fauzan Alhassan.

According to the Police, the duo were apprehended on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, while trailing a dispatch rider who was transporting company funds to a bank at Abossey Okai.

Intelligence gathered revealed that the suspects, along with two other accomplices identified as Frankie and Asante, had conspired to intercept the cash during the transfer.

Acting on a tip-off, officers mounted surveillance which led to the arrest of Danso and Alhassan in the act.

During interrogation, the two admitted to their involvement in the plot and named their accomplices, prompting a continued search for the remaining suspects.

Both individuals are currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations, while the Police have pledged to bring all those involved to justice.
