Truck crushes construction worker to death at Ashaiman

A young construction worker has tragically lost his life after being run over by a road compactor at a construction site in Ashaiman.

The incident occurred along the traffic–main station stretch, where rehabilitation works are ongoing.

According to eyewitness accounts, the victim had taken a short break during working hours and was resting beneath a parked compactor, likely seeking shade.

With headphones on, he was unaware when the driver resumed work and moved the vehicle. The driver, also unaware of the worker’s presence underneath, accidentally drove over him.

The victim was rushed to the hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries.

The tragedy has sent shockwaves through the community and raised concerns about inadequate safety measures at construction sites.
