Trotro Mate Earns GH¢3,000 Per Month While Degree Holders Earn GH¢1,200

Most people after completing tertiary find it difficult to get employment to support themselves and their families.

The challenges of life have taught some people to be strong-willed and take up certain jobs to be able to fend for themselves and their dependents.

Whenever they hit the wall, they have had to quickly adjust avoiding blame games.

A trotro mate is a conductor on a commercial vehicle who collects the fare, helps passengers load and offload their luggage and goods and calls out the destination of the vehicle to attract passengers.

A social media user called ‘Juniorkingp’ has spake a lot of reactions after drawing people’s attention to the amount made by ‘trotro mate’ compared to degree holders in the country. His revelation has to do with how much people ‘trotro mates’ make within the day (GH¢100). He multiplied it by the number of days in the month (30 days) which yield a result of GH¢3,000.

On the other side, he made mentioned degree holders in the country who earned an amount of GH¢1,200. The attention has been brought to the post after thousands of people reacted to it. It all shows the current employment situation in the country. It seems it has turned out to favor the people who are not holding degrees.
