Three women suspected pickpockets busted at Kejetia market

A group of suspected pickpockets has been apprehended by traders at Kejetia in Kumasi. This group, consisting of three middle-aged women, is believed to be part of a larger gang operating in the Kumasi district.

In a video shared on the social media platform X, the suspects are seen handcuffed in a shop while a man physically assaults one of them.

It is unclear how much money they managed to steal from their victims.

One of the victims is heard saying: “While I walk through the scorching sun to buy stuff, you come and steal from me. I am the one whose money they stole. That is the money that has been retrieved from them by the man. Had it not been for my money they stole, they wouldn’t have been arrested.”

It is uncommon to find female pickpockets like these suspects, who are highly skilled and use a variety of tactics to steal items.
