Three burnt to death after motorbike collision at Manso Watreso

Three people have lost their lives following a collision between two motorbikes that sparked a deadly fire at Manso Watreso in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.

The tragic incident occurred on Monday when the two motorbikes—one carrying two passengers and the other a single rider—reportedly collided head-on.

The impact caused both bikes to burst into flames.

According to a report by Accra-based Channel One News, bystanders attempted to douse the fire and rescue the victims, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service and the police later arrived to contain the blaze.

Confirming the incident, Assembly Member for the area, Kofi Mensah, disclosed that one person died on the spot, while the other two, who were rushed to a nearby hospital, later succumbed to their injuries.

He further indicated that preliminary investigations suggest one of the motorbikes was transporting fuel, which likely ignited upon impact and triggered the explosion.

The police are yet to release the identities of the victims. Their remains have been deposited at the St. Martin’s Hospital morgue in Agroyesum as investigations continue.
