Thousands Flock to Beaches across Accra for Easter Monday Festivities

Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, saw thousands of revelers descend on Accra’s popular beaches, turning spots like Dansoman, Labadi, and Sakumono into lively centers of celebration and joy.

The annual tradition brought together families, friends, and partygoers, all eager to soak up the sun, sea, and holiday spirit. The beaches buzzed with energy as music, dancing, food, and games created a festive atmosphere throughout the day.

“Today is a holiday, and I’m here to have fun,” said an enthusiastic visitor at Labadi Beach, beaming with excitement.

For others, the day held more personal meaning. “I came to swim, socialize, and maybe meet some new friends,” shared another beachgoer.
“I just needed to unwind and reset. This is how I de-stress,” added a young man relaxing near the shore.

Vendors lined the sands, selling everything from sizzling grilled seafood to vibrant beachwear, seizing the opportunity to cater to the large crowds.

Security personnel were also on the ground, maintaining order and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

The day was a colorful display of community, culture, and celebration—an Easter Monday to remember in the heart of the capital.
