Thomas Partey, Jordan, Kudus to start: Black Stars predicted starting XI against Mali

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is expected to name a strong lineup for Ghana’s game against group favourite Mali in the crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier today, June 6, 2024.

Otto Addo could opt for a four-back system with Lawrence Ati-Zigi in goal, behind Tariq Lamptey, Salisu Mohammed, Alexander Djiku, and Gideon Mensah as the back four.

In midfield, Thomas Partey could lead the team as the captain, marking his return to the lineup since October 2023. He is expected to play in a double pivot alongside Salis Samed.

Otto Addo’s preferred 4-2-3-1 system could see a forward line of Ernest Nuamah, Kudus Mohammed, and Jordan Ayew playing behind Antoine Semenyo as the arrowhead.

The game is scheduled for a 19:00 GMT kickoff time at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako.

A win for Ghana would send them move to second place on the table, as they currently sit fifth with one win and one defeat in two games. Conversely, a defeat would put a significant dent in the country’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
