‘This too shall pass’ – AY Makun speaks as wife confirms split

Nigerian comedian and actor Ayodeji Richard Makun, often known as AY, has spoken out following the confirmation by his estranged wife Mabel that their 16-year marriage was over.

In a recent Instagram post, Mabel expressed her commitment to “moving forward with grace and resilience,” stating that her goal of a lifetime marriage had taken a “different direction.”

She requested “privacy and consideration as we (my ex-husband and I) find our own path forward,” acknowledging that divorce is a difficult time.

Responding, AY expressed hope that the difficult moment they had encountered would pass soon.

Taking to his Instagram page he wrote: “This too shall pass.”

AY earlier lamented that his 20-year friendship and marriage were getting away from him.
