There’s no money in rap music, Sarkodie has taken all the cash – YPee

Ghanaian hip hop recording artist and performer, YPee born Andy Agyemang has disclosed that there is no profit in rap music anymore.

According to YPee, rap music does not pay like it used to so most rappers have resorted to doing singles instead of complete albums.

YPee explained that the era where the rap music genre pays is over, adding that Sarkodie, Ghana’s best rapper has hit songs which are not of the rap genre but are danceable.

“Those days when Sarkodie started rap is different from now. Check Sarkodie’s biggest and hit songs like Adonai, You Go Kill and others are not rap songs but they did so well in the music market because they are commercial tunes and danceable tracks”. He revealed.

“The rap music is not profitable like it used to be. Sarkodie and others have taken all the cash”, YPee said amid laughter.
