There is a lot of attention and pressure on Mohammed Kudus – Sonnie Badu

Ghanaian gospel artiste Sonnie Badu has raised concern over the immense attention and pressure faced by Mohammed Kudus, particularly due to his wearing of the number 10 jersey.

In a discussion on Asempa FM, he stated that Kudus would benefit from having a psychologist and learning about the importance of his number 10 jersey.

“I think due to the pressure and attention on Kudus, he might benefit from having a personal psychologist by his side. Given that he has been assigned the number 10 jersey, it is crucial to educate him about the significance of this number and its history.”

He referenced legends like Abedi Pele, Stephen Appiah, and Dede Ayew, stating that “this specific jersey must be worn with respect.”

Sonnie Badu called on Ghanaians to exercise patience towards Kudus as he faces immense pressure.

“Due to his previous achievements in the World Cup and AFCON, we believe he can accomplish that. I trust Kudus has the ability, but we are placing excessive pressure on him.

“It’s important for him to connect with the team and stay relaxed; we can’t expect him to score every time he gets the ball. It’s not about him being overly proud but rather maintaining humility,” he added.

Sonnie Badu shared this insight following the Black Stars’ recent draw against Angola. Ghanaians had high hopes for the players, who ultimately fell short of living up to those expectations.
