The same person who lied Jonathan wanted to kill him in 2014? – Reno Omokri chides El-Rufai

El-Rufai has been in the news over the last week for his blistering criticism of President Bola Tinubu and the hierarchy of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In his latest attack on the Presidency, El-Rufai in response to a post by an X user Imran Wakili on the alleged plot to arrest him said that he won’t be intimidated by the actions of the current government to silence him.

He said, “I have been hearing these same rumors of arrest, detention and torture in some dungeon in the NSA’s office (where Emefiele was allegedly tortured to resign as CBN governor), since July 2024 when the so-called report of the Kaduna Assembly began circulating.

“They freaked out when we challenged the legality of the premeditated defamation and went to every length to compromise the judicial process, and this is continuing at the Court of Appeal.

“They have sent such similar messages of intimidation and threats through many of my friends, family and political associates because they want me to go on self-imposed exile.

“I will not.

In his reaction, Omokri shared a 2014 post of El-Rufai where he claimed that President Goodluck Jonathan had wanted to kill him.

He wrote: “The same Nasir El-Rufai who lied that then President Jonathan was planning to kill him is the same person now accusing incumbent President Tinubu of wanting to arrest him.”

“Indeed, the devil has no new tricks other than recycling the same old tired lies!”
