The ‘King’ is here: Watch the arrival of Otumfuo’s convoy in Accra

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has arrived in the nation’s capital, Accra, for his historic visit to the Ga State.

Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, is expected to hold a durbar in honour of the Asantehene on Sunday, June 9, 2024, a first of its kind aimed at fortifying the bonds between the Ga and Asante.

A video shared by Kumasi-based Opemsuo Radio showed the arrival of the Asantehene in Accra on Saturday, June 9, 2024.

The video showed the Otumfuo’s convoy led by three police motorcycles and a police land cruiser.

At least 10 land cruisers followed the police vehicles, including the one transporting the Otumfuo.

As part of the Asantehene’s visit, the Ga Mantse will host a cultural event at the Ga Mantse palace’s forecourt in Kaneshie, Accra, on Sunday.

The visit follows the Ga Mantse’s attendance at Otumfuo’s 25th-anniversary celebrations and aims to rejuvenate the longstanding camaraderie between the Ga and Asante communities.
