Daniel Asiedu, also known as Sexy Dondon, wept emotionally, stating that he was tired of attending the trial, according to graphic.com.gh.
Asiedu, who is set for retrial after nine years of legal proceedings, lamented the unfairness of the justice system in the country, saying, “The court system in Ghana is not fair.”
Through tears, he maintained his innocence regarding the charges. He was eventually calmed down by the court before proceedings could resume, the report further said.
The High Court, presided over by Justice Kizita Naa Koowa Quarshie, called attention to defense counsel, Sophia Armstrong, who indicated that her senior had planned to file a bail application.
The court, however, said it had not received the application for bail.
The court has adjourned the matter to February 25, 2025.
The High Court, on December 4, 2024, ordered the retrial of Asiedu, a trader, after a seven-member jury returned a 4-3 verdict on him on the charges of robbery and murder.
