Ten-Year-Old Raphael Asomani Becomes Youngest Student at Adisadel College, Wows Ghanaians

Raphael Asomani, a remarkable 10-year-old boy, has become the talk of Ghana, drawing widespread admiration for his exceptional feat as the youngest student to gain admission to the prestigious Adisadel College Senior High School in Cape Coast, Central Region.
Currently a first-year student at one of the country’s renowned A-list senior high schools, Raphael shared details of his extraordinary academic journey in a video interview with a colleague, which has since been widely viewed on GhanaWeb’s Facebook page. In the interview, Raphael calmly stated how he sat for his final examination for basic education, the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), at the tender age of 10 – an exceptionally rare achievement that has left many astounded.
Providing background on his formative education, Raphael explained that he completed his basic schooling at Holy Child RC Basic School in Sakumono, Accra, at a notably young age, demonstrating an accelerated learning path from early on. His academic excellence during his time at Holy Child RC and subsequently in the BECE secured him a coveted spot at Adisadel College.
“I’m from Holy Child RC Business School inside Sakumono and I wrote [BECE] at Global Trust Academy. I wrote BECE at age 10,” he articulated, confirming the astonishing timeline of his academic progression.
Raphael’s achievement has resonated deeply with many Ghanaians, who have taken to social media to express their admiration. The prevailing sentiment is that his precocious intelligence and exceptional cognitive abilities likely led to his rapid promotion through earlier grades, allowing him to bypass the typical age requirements for his peers. Consequently, while the average age for students taking the BECE is usually around 14 years, Raphael managed to complete this crucial examination four years ahead of schedule.
Currently pursuing a General Arts course at Adisadel College, Raphael is already looking ahead, expressing a desire to continue setting new benchmarks and achieving further milestones in his secondary education. Given his current age, he is expected to complete his studies at Adisadel College between the ages of 12 and 13, setting him on a path to potentially become one of Ghana’s youngest ever senior high school graduates and a future academic prodigy.
