Teenager delivers and buries baby alive

An 18-year-old lady has delivered and buried alive a day old baby boy at Owodokum near Suhum in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region on Sunday, July 14, 2019.

The suspect according to the Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) DSP Ebenezer Tetteh who confirmed the incident to MyNewsGh.com revealed that the suspect has been identified as Jenifer Badu and is currently on admission Suhum Government Hospital.

According to him, at about 4 am a resident called at the station and reported that on same day suspect Jenifer Badu delivered a baby in the nearby bush and buried the child alive.

On receipt of the complaint, police proceeded to the scene in the bush at Owodokum village and found a lifeless body of a day old baby boy lying in a small hole in a supine position with his placenta lying close to the body. The body was photographed by investigators and conveyed to Suhum Government Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
