The Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Hon Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has attributed the “underdeveloped” nature of the country to the poor mismanagement of the economy by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, Former President John Dramani Mahama is the worst leader to rule Ghana since the emergence of democracy.
Hon Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu who is the Member of Parliament for Suame, made this known in Kumasi, during a meeting with the delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency.
According to him, during Mahama administration regrettably, Ghana imported cassava and plaintain from Baukina Faso ,making life unbearable for the citizenry.
“Under Nana Addo Danquah administration, such products are exported to Baukina Faso following the planting for food and jobs programme” He said.
He disclosed that under Kufuor administration, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was 9.1 percent.
According to him, under the current administration, the GDP stands at 8.8 percent which is memorable and commendable as compared to the eight years administration of Mills and Mahama which stood at 3.1 percent.
” Mahama is the worst President to rule this country with GDP of 3.1 percent while Ghana was producing oil” Suame MP said.
The Majority Leader disclosed that Nana Addo administration has put measures in place to industrialise the country with government’s flagship programmes which include planting for food and jobs, and one-district one- factory.
Ghana, he said, will embark on car manufacturing in the next 20 years following the discovery of iron and minerals for aluminium production.
The Majority Leader therefore advised Ghanaians to retain the government in power for the next 12 years to develop Ghana to help compete with other developed countries.
