Feyiase chief to Osei-Owusu: You’ve abandoned us after voting for you

The Kyidomhene of Feyiase in the Bekwai municipality of the Ashanti Region, Nana Osei Tutu, has expressed his disappointment with the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bekwai Constituency.

According to him, Mr Joseph Osei-Owusu has neglected the community after the 2016 general elections and also does not respond to their calls.

“I’m disappointed in the MP. During the 2016 elections, he came to plead for our votes but afterwards he does not come here and doesn’t even pick our phone calls,” he lamented on Friday, 15 June 2018.

The chief also bemoaned the neglect of the area by successive governments and failure of officialdom to give them their share of development, citing deplorable roads and lack of schools in the area which need attention.

According to him, the community managed to build a school but teaching and learning materials are inadequate.

Nana Osei Tutu, therefore, pleaded with the government to come to the aid of the community since, in his estimation, they have been neglected for far too long.

Acting on this plea, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), in collaboration with Nectar of Hope Children Foundation, presented solar panels, exercise books and pens to the Feyiase Primary School to help teaching and learning.
