Obour steps down as Managing Director of Ghana Post

Bice Osei Kuffour, popularly known as ‘Obour’, has resigned from his position as the Acting Managing Director of Ghana Post Company Limited.

Announcing his resignation in a Facebook post sighted by GhanaWeb Business, he stated that it had been a privilege to serve Ghana Post since January 4, 2022.

Obour expressed that leading Ghana Post through a transformative phase aimed at repositioning it as a modern, efficient, and customer-centric postal and logistics provider had been an honor.

“I assumed office as Managing Director of Ghana Post on January 4, 2022, and it has been an honor and a privilege to serve in this role, steering Ghana Post through a transformative phase aimed at repositioning it as a modern, efficient, and customer-centric postal services and logistics provider,” part of his Facebook post read.

“As I resign from this position to pursue other interests, I wish to express my utmost appreciation to Hon. Ursula Owusu, who was my sector minister, the Board of Directors, and the hardworking management and staff of Ghana Post, whose dedication and commitment have been instrumental in the progress we have made,” he added.

Over the years, Ghana Post has leveraged technological innovations to enable customers to access postal services remotely through an online platform.

The “GhPostPay” platform was launched in 2019 as part of the company’s digital transformation efforts.

Additionally, Ghana Post has embarked on a digitalization agenda, introducing the digital address system and digitising postal services across all offices in the country.

Some recognitions earned by the company include the Best EMS Call Centre Award in 2017 and the Best Customer Care Award in 2018, both by the Universal Postal Union in Switzerland, among others.
