Years back people made fun of my engrish’ – Makhadzi celebrates first day as AFRIMA panellist

South African singer Makhadzi, real name Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona, has taken to social media to celebrate her selection as a 2025 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) panellist.

Following her first day at the conference, Makhadzi said she has learnt a lot and cannot wait to share her knowledge with others.

She also reflected on her hard journey to stardom and said, “years back my people made fun of my engrish .. today iam one of the penalist of BIGGEST AWARDS IN AFRICA . It all started as a dream the rest is a history.”

This follows Makhadzi’s participation in the 2025 Music Beyond Borders Conference held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Tuesday, 13 May 2025.

The singer gave a talk about unlocking and monetising Africa’s music economy.

Before her departure, Makhadzi announced that she was happy and excited to be part of the AFRIMA as a panellist and said, “This realy means a lot to me as a musician to be trusted and recognised to come state my mind about AFRICAN MUSIC. Ethiopia 🇪🇹 iam on my way.”
