‘I feel I got married too early’ – Dr. Kweku Oteng’s ex-wife

Former winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant, Sally Akua Amoakowaa, has expressed her regret about marrying at a young age.

In a recent interview, Akua, the ex-wife of Dr. Kweku Oteng reflected on her early marriage, stating that she felt she entered into it without fully exploring life or understanding herself.

She revealed that if she could change one thing from her past, it would be her decision to marry at 22.

“If I had the opportunity to change something from ten years ago, it would be not getting married. I sometimes feel I got married too early. I married at 22, and I hadn’t really discovered who I was or explored the world,” she said.

She further advised young women to ensure they truly understand themselves and the implications of marriage before deciding to marry young.

“If someone knows who they are, understands what they are getting into, and is ready for the task ahead, then of course, they can go ahead and get married,” she added.

Akua GMB became the fourth wife of Dr. Kweku Oteng, founder of Angel Group of Companies, shortly after winning the 2011 Ghana’s Most Beautiful pageant.

The couple was married for nearly eight years before divorcing in 2019. Their marriage produced three children.
