63 ‘robbers’ grabbed in Kumasi
The Ashanti regional police command has arrested 63 suspected armed robbers in the Kumasi Metropolis.
The arrest was made during a swoop on Thursday, 1 November 2018 at suspected criminal den areas.
Fourteen of the suspects were arrested at Asafo while 49 were arrested at Atasemanso and Santase respectively.
The suspects which include two females have their ages ranging from 18 to 40.
Guns, cutlasses, scissors, knives, and pliers were retrieved from them.
Other items include handcuffs, police beret, fake local and foreign currencies, dry leaves suspected to be marijuana among others.
Corporal Prince Dogbatse, Deputy Regional Police Public Relations Officer told Class News’ regional correspondent Elisha Adarkwah that the operation was part of measures put in place by the command to get rid of miscreants from the society as the Yuletide approaches.
He said the suspects will be screened for subsequent prosecution.
