Rejected rasta student receives top award

In March 2021, two young Rasta students Tyron Marhguy and Oheneba Nkrabea were denied admission at Achimota High School.

The two students were allegedly denied admission to the school because of their dreadlocks and this got most people reacting to the decision both locally and internationally.

Later, Oheneba Kwaku Nkrabea received a full scholarship valued at $160,000 at the Ghana International School (GIS) after they failed to meet Achimota School’s requirement due to their dreadlocks and he has recently received a top award in that school.

According to reports gathered, he managed to beat all his colleagues in his current school to win the calmest and respectful student. Not only that, he was also acknowledged as the kindest student.

His award was given him in the full glare of cameras. Pictures of the award was also shared on social media by well-wishers.

Some of us are happy for his achievement with his great academic IQ but we shouldn’t forget that there are laws, orders, requirements and culture in EVERY organization hence Achimota High School.

Below is award given to Oheneba Nkrabea;
