Paa Kwesi Fabin opens up on reason behind Asante Kotoko departure

Former Ghana U-17 coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin has disclosed reasons behind his decision to resign from Asante Kotoko.

Paa Kwesi Fabin tendered in his resignation letter on Thursday after seven months in the dug-out of the club.

However, media reports indicate that the 50-year-old gaffer resigned over a leaked video, where he was captured to be discussing a possible move to an unnamed club president in South Africa.

The former Black Starlets trainer was heard saying that he will fly to South Africa if the club is able to wire some amount of money to his account to settle his family before coming.

“I resigned because Kotoko had planned to sack me by Monday (September 16, 2018) and I didn’t want a “sack” on my CV,” he told FOX FM.

He quizzed if he would rescind his decision to stay on as the head coach of the club, he answered, “Yes, if the terms are good”!

In the related development, Dr. Kwame Kyei expressed his disappointment with coach Fabin’s decision after assuring him of an improved contract.

“I had good relationship with coach Fabin, I asked him to be patient so we talk about his contract, and there was nothing wrong so I feel a bit disappointed he couldn’t exercise patience.”
