Police are likely to chase down organizers of Arise Ghana demonstration for possible prosecution following last week’s bloody demonstration.
Police on Wednesday shared public educational tips on the law that guides the holding of special events including demonstrations.
Kasapafmonline.com sources say the insight is a prelude to the Police’s intended arrest of the organizers of the ‘Krom Ay3 hye’ demonstration as there were apparent violations of the Public Order Act by Organizers per the Release.
However, Arise Ghana has reacted to the Statement issued by the Ghana Police Service insisting the decision to premise the so-called public education on its recent demonstration is disingenuous and a deliberate attempt to smear the image of Arise Ghana.
“For the records, Arise Ghana as a law abiding pressure group strictly adhered to all the relevant provisions of the Public Order Act in the organization of our historic two-day demonstration held on 28th and 29th June, 2022.
“We are appalled by persistent threats of the Ghana Police Service to arrest the leaders of Arise Ghana when it is the Dampare-led Ghana Police Service that should face the law for abandoning their professional ethics in favor of their masked paymasters.”

At least 29 protesters were arrested by the Police following the chaotic scenes that marred the Arise Ghana demonstration in the capital.
The Arise Ghana “Krom AyƐ Hye” demonstration turned chaotic after the Police fired tear gas at the protesters.
Reports say the chaos ensued after there was disagreement over the route to embark on resulting in the police blocking the Kwame Nkrumah interchange road with no movement from either vehicle or persons.
Viral pictures and videos on social media showed some demonstrators pelting stones at the Police.
Fifteen Police officers were injured as a result of the standoff.
Two police officers who sustained various degrees of injuries during the Arise Ghana demonstration underwent emergency surgeries at the police hospital, police confirmed.
The two-day demonstration by pressure group Arise Ghana began Tuesday, June 28, 2022 midday and ended on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
The group which is made up of different political parties protested the alleged corruption in the Akufo-Addo government, persistent and astronomical hikes in fuel prices by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government, the imposition of the E-Levy, grabbing of state lands by officials of government, and Covid-19 expenditures among others.
